That CRA agent phoning you from a VPD number is a scammer

Vancouver police are warning the public to beware of phone scammers who claim to be Canada Revenue Agency representatives and appear to be calling from the VPD’s non-emergency line.

Staff Sgt. Randy Fincham says that con artists, who claim to be CRA agents and demand payment for unpaid taxes, have manipulated the phones to display the VPD non-emergency number, 604-717-3321.

Fincham says the VPD’s non-emergency line would never be used to solicit for any organization or individual and the CRA would never demand a prepaid credit card or ask for information about your passport, health card or driver’s licence.
